Dr. Dorothy (Dody) Sears, Associate Professor of Medicine at UC San Diego, has been conducting obesity and type 2 diabetes-related research for 17 years. She is an internationally recognized expert in these fields, and has recently broadened her focus to include breast cancer. She is Principal Investigator of an on-going clinical trial testing novel dietary interventions for improving insulin sensitivity in obese subjects with the Metabolic Syndrome. She has been an invited speaker at the National Institutes of Health, the Aegean Conference Series, the University of Wisconsin, and other locations.
