The Events Committee provides a forum for social events and to discuss issues pertinent to women in science.
By joining the Events Committee you can help:

Organize regularly scheduled chapter events to promote communication within the chapter and between AWIS-SD and the San Diego scientific community.

Provide a forum for discussion of issues pertinent to women in science-related fields
-
Provide networking, personal, and professional development opportunities for AWIS-SD members
Your Volunteer Experience will help you to develop skills outside of the pressures of the workforce :

Learn organization skills, how to obtain speakers, book venues, plan catering and advertise events

Practice public speaking skills by introducing guest speakers and making AWIS announcements at events

Perfect your networking skills by continually meeting new people in the STEM field
